The Richmond Run in Less Than 12 Parsecs

Had a lovely visit to Richmond this weekend. J's sister and fam put us up and, although I'm now rethinking the idea of having children, it was a beautiful drive with all the fall colors and we had a great time hanging out with J's sister A.

here's my favorite picture of little niecphew #19, Jo-Jo.
yes, that's bok choy in a steamer. sis and hubby didn't learn the sex and, as sis is a labor and delivery nurse and was pretty sick to death of the standard "peanut" or "pumpkin", they nicknamed their little unkown, gilled-thing "bok choy". thus this little arrangement.

Road Trip

So my friend Kurt got married in France and my friend Will flew out to Dubrovnik where I picked him up and we drove all the way over to Gap, France for the wedding. It was a road trip of grandiose proportions. There was smuggled wine, angry salsa dancing women, snotty effeminate hoteliers, breaking and entering, and wild boar.
Generally a good time.
